President Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen is penning a tell-all book about his experiencing working for the president.
Multiple sources close to Cohen told The Daily Beast that Cohen plans to release the book before the November presidential election, adding that he feels betrayed by his former associate and employer.
“It’s like Jaws-you don’t see Jaws very much, but you hear the music, and for Trump he knows Michael is coming and Trump better hear the Jaws music,” comedian Tom Arnold told The Daily Beast. Arnold began corresponding with Cohen in 2018, vowing at the time to “take down” the president.
“He told me he’s been writing a book and he’s pissed. He told me he is going to spill the beans. What has he got to lose now?” Arnold told the news outlet.
Another source close to Cohen who remained anonymous told The Daily Beast that Cohen used his prison sentence, which began last year over a slew of financial crimes and campaign finance violations, to pen the exposé that the figure said was full of “incredible” stories about the president.
“He has been using his time wisely inside to write a book and no one should be surprised as he’s always talked about writing a book,” said the source, The Daily Beast reported.
“Michael’s stories about Trump are incredible. He has saved a lot of them for when the time is right and the time is now right. Michael spent a long time with Trump – he is going to go into everything and he’s not going to hold anything back. He has paid his dues and he’s pissed he had to go to jail for this,” they added.
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment on Cohen’s reported efforts.
Cohen testified before several congressional committees in early 2019, claiming at the time that Trump had used racist language in his personal company and also lied about his wealth for business purposes.
